Conventional & Synthetic Oil Change & Filter Replacement in Bennington VT

Regardless of whether you're just breaking in your new Subaru or if it just rounded the big 200,000 on the odometer it is important to know when to change your car's oil. It is just as important to know how to check your oil so you can spot a leak or in the event you don't know when your next oil change should be. The difference between clean and dirty oil can seem like night and day when comparing the way your Subaru Crosstrek, Forester, Outback, Impreza, or Legacy runs. Clean oil, will give it a clean feel as you accelerate. Check your owners manual to know how often you need to change your oil, what type of oil to use, and which filters to use. The common rule is to change your oil every 3,000 miles but, that was with regular conventional oil. With newer synthetics many vehicles can go between 7,000 and some up to 10,000 miles between oil changes! At Bennington Subaru we encourage regular oil changes to keep your vehicle running for years to come.

Schedule Oil Change

Why should I change my Car or SUVs oil? Oil is oil isn't it?

Your motor oil lubricates all the moving parts in your engine. Engine oil prevents friction which creates heat. Excessive heat on the engine parts causes abnormal wear and tear on the parts which can cause them to fail. Without regular oil changes your oil gets dirty and thick with contaminants and even small pieces of metal that come off the engine block.

Thick sludgy oil can cause buildup on the crankshaft, valves, and pistons. This can cause engine damage as the parts that need lubrication can no longer receive the oil

It's without question that engine repairs can get expensive quick and in some cases be more to repair than the actual value of the vehicle. This can be avoided with regular oil changes. Go for the synthetic oil if your car takes it; it will last much longer and you won't have to come in that often!
